Tourists are banned from bringing any live animals and plants, as well as fresh fruit into Taiwan

A new regulation took effect on Jan. 1, 2007, arrival passengers are not allowed to carry with live animals, plants and fresh fruits, with the exception of dogs, cats, rabbits and plants that meet the requirements set forth in the statutes for preventing plagues and epidemics, and dried and processed marine products.

The regulation is designed to safeguard the health of local people, protect the ecological environment, and meet quarantine needs. The Council of Agriculture has installed quarantine bin at appointed places in the Taiwan Taoyuan International for tourists to deposit the prohibited animals, plants and fresh fruits.
