(In case of any discrepancy between the Chinese text and the English translation thereof, the Chinese text shall govern.)
Fresh asparagus produced in Mexico from United States shall be:
1. Free of soil.
2. Accompanied with a re-export Phytosanitary Certificate issued by Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
3. Thoroughly inspected and found free of western flower thrips (Franklinella occidentalis) and stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci). This condition shall be stated on the Phytosanitary Certificate.
In case of transshipment through other countries or districts where pests or diseases affect asparagus is known to occur, the consignments shall be either:
1. Shipped in a sealed container. The seal shall be intact until arrival. The container number and seal number shall be marked on the phytosanitary certificate issued by APHIS, the bill of lading, or other relevant document(s) approved by the BAPHIQ, or
2. Packed in packages / cartons / pallets that are air-tight sealed or in a way to prevent infestation of pests.
All wood packaging materials used in the consignments shall be treated and marked in procedures comply with ISPM 15.
